About this page
This page does not show patient testimonials, star ratings or review counts. Each patient's eyelid anatomy, goals and recovery are different, and medical information should help you decide — not persuade you. Individual results vary.
How the process works
- First message. Most patients begin with a WhatsApp message or the contact form: a brief description of the concern, three photos (front, three-quarter, eyes-closed) in good natural light, and any medical history relevant to surgery. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ayhan Işık Erdal personally reviews every enquiry.
- Assessment. The photo consultation gives an honest assessment of what is anatomically present, what surgery could realistically deliver and which technique — if any — would suit you. If surgery is not appropriate, or appropriate only with significant caveats, you are told so; deciding not to have surgery is a legitimate outcome.
- Consultation in Istanbul. Before surgery, a full in-person assessment at the Nişantaşı clinic confirms the plan. Suitability is always confirmed by personal consultation and examination.
- Surgery and early recovery. Surgery is usually followed by discharge to your hotel the same afternoon, a few days of recovery with cold compresses and eye drops, and a clinic visit around day 5 for suture removal and a post-op check. The international patient guide and the recovery timeline set out each stage and its timing.
- Follow-up. After you fly home, follow-up continues by WhatsApp — a healing check at week 2, a video call at week 4, a photo review at month 3 and a final assessment at month 6.
Speaking with a previous patient directly
Some of our previous patients have agreed to be available for a short call or WhatsApp message with prospective patients who have specific questions about the experience. This is offered selectively — typically for patients who are in the late stages of decision-making.
If this would be helpful, message Dr. Erdal directly and describe what you'd most want to ask. He can identify a previous patient whose case was similar to yours and ask if they'd be open to a brief conversation.
