The Nişantaşı clinic

Our practice operates from a dedicated clinic on Teşvikiye Caddesi in Nişantaşı. Surgery is performed in a fully-accredited surgical hospital nearby — never in office-only conditions.

Location and access

Address: Teşvikiye Caddesi No:9/12, Şişli, Istanbul 34365

The clinic sits in the heart of Nişantaşı, on Teşvikiye Caddesi — the main avenue running through the district. Practical access:

  • From Istanbul Airport: 30–40 minutes by car (taxi or pre-arranged transfer)
  • From Sabiha Gökçen Airport (Asian side): 50–70 minutes
  • From major hotels (St. Regis, Le Méridien): walking distance (5–10 minutes)
  • Metro: Osmanbey M2 station 7 minutes' walk

What happens where

The patient journey involves two separate facilities:

  • The clinic (Teşvikiye Caddesi): consultations, pre-operative assessment, post-operative follow-up, suture removal, all non-surgical visits
  • Surgical hospital: the actual operation. We work with fully-accredited private hospitals nearby (Acıbadem, Medical Park or equivalent) where surgery is performed in fully-equipped operating theatres with anaesthesia, monitoring, and post-anaesthesia care

We deliberately don't perform surgery in office-only conditions. Office-based blepharoplasty — sometimes marketed as "in-clinic" — lacks the airway management, anaesthesia depth, and emergency capability that proper surgical hospitals provide. The cost difference is real but the safety difference is more important.

Anaesthesia and peri-operative care

  • Anaesthesia: performed by board-certified anaesthesiologists; never by the surgeon or nurses
  • Pre-op workup: blood work, ECG, anaesthesia consultation
  • Operating theatre: standard surgical hospital equipment — anaesthesia machine, monitoring, recovery room
  • Recovery room: 30–60 minutes monitored emergence from anaesthesia before discharge
  • Discharge: with a companion, with written instructions, with the next-day contact protocol

Frequently asked questions

Can I visit the clinic before deciding?

Yes — we welcome in-person consultations from international patients who are in Istanbul. Many patients combine an initial visit with a short city trip, before deciding whether to book surgery. The first consultation is held in-person at the clinic; no commitment to book is implied.

Where is post-op follow-up done?

Day 5–7 (suture removal): at the clinic. Subsequent follow-ups (week 4, month 3, month 6) are typically done remotely via WhatsApp video and photos for international patients — but in-clinic if you happen to be back in Istanbul.

Medical disclaimer: This page provides general information about blepharoplasty and reflects the clinical opinions of Doç. Dr. Erdal. It does not constitute medical advice for any individual patient. Results vary; all surgery carries risk. Blepharoplasty in some cases produces irreversible changes to eyelid anatomy. Suitability is determined only through personal consultation with full medical history disclosure.

Not sure if you're a candidate?

Blepharoplasty is most successful when patient anatomy, age, and goals align with what surgery can realistically deliver. Send three facial photos (front, profile, eyes-closed) and Doç. Dr. Erdal will give you an honest, no-pressure suitability assessment before you commit to anything.

Ready to discuss your case?

Doç. Dr. Erdal personally reviews every enquiry. Honest assessment of whether blepharoplasty is right for you, with no pressure to book.
