Blepharoplasty with full face rejuvenation

For patients in their 60s and 70s with both upper-face and lower-face aging, comprehensive single-session surgery can produce a coherent rejuvenation rather than a partial result that highlights the un-treated areas.

Why coherence matters

A common pattern: a patient in their late 60s has blepharoplasty alone. The eyes look excellent — but the lower face (jowls, neck) is unchanged, and the contrast between rejuvenated eyes and aged lower face can actually highlight what wasn't done. The reverse is also true: a facelift on a patient with severe hooded eyes leaves the eyes looking even older relative to the face.

Comprehensive single-session surgery — bleph + brow + facelift + neck — addresses the whole face simultaneously, producing a coherent rejuvenation that looks 10–15 years younger overall rather than focally improved in one zone.

What this involves

  • Upper or quad blepharoplasty
  • Brow lift (often endoscopic)
  • Facelift (SMAS deep-plane technique)
  • Neck lift (often platysmaplasty)
  • Optional: fat grafting for volume restoration in cheek, lips, perioral region

Operating time 6–8 hours under general anaesthesia. Single recovery period rather than 2–3 staged procedures.

Who is a candidate

The combined-procedure candidate must:

  • Be in excellent general health for a long anaesthesia (recent ECG, blood work, primary physician clearance)
  • Be psychologically prepared for a recovery of 3+ weeks visible
  • Have realistic expectations — comprehensive rejuvenation, not "becoming young"
  • Have adequate support at home for the longer initial recovery

Frequently asked questions

Should comprehensive surgery be done in stages instead?

Reasonable patients can stage if they prefer — facelift first, bleph 6 months later for example. The downside is two recovery periods and two travel trips. For international patients staying in Istanbul, single-session is usually more efficient.

How long until I look 'normal' after combined surgery?

Acceptable in public: ~3 weeks. 80% of final result: 3 months. Final result: 6–12 months.
